I have met the most incredible person

Etta the Witch Sold Today and I do believe the nicest person in the world bought her. The buyer asked that I write "JoEtta" on the hat and she wants to give the doll to my aunt JoEtta. She would not take no for an answer so I will do as she asked but in return I am making her something very special. I still can't believe how nice a complete stranger can be to me and my family. She was made a big impression on me, one I will never forget and in her honor I promise to spread the same kindness and generosity she has given to me. I will post pictures of my aunt with the doll.

Etta the Witch

This is the first doll I've made all summer and it is for a very special reason. My aunt JoEtta was diagnosed with cancer in June and the medication is very expensive and their insurance won't cover it! I made Etta for auction on eBay and I'm donating the money to my Aunt JoEtta's "Get Well Fund". I sure enjoyed making Etta and I've got a couple of great ideas for more witches.

Been A While....

Time Flies! I've been so busy this summer I've not had a chance to stay up to date! I've been busy with my daughter and our horses and I can't believe school break is coming to an end. My daughter is happy but I'll be a bit sad. I like late summer nights and will be sad when they must end.

We did get a wonderful new horse! Well actually we traded horses. I had a really nice QH filly and I wanted an Arabian and I happen to come across a lady that had a Arabian that wanted a QH. She is so beautiful and we really like her a lot!

My Best Friend Pretzel

My sweet little kitty got sick this past week and took a turn for the worse today so I took him to the emergency clinic. He had kidney failure and there was nothing they could do, he was only two years old. I love this kitty so much and I will miss him dearly. I lost my best friend, he was with me while I painted, sewed, cleaned, slept, everything I did he was right there with me. He even went out with me when I did chores, morning and night, rain or shine he went with me. He was also a great alarm clock, I haven't slept in a day since he showed up here, he woke me up every morning before the alarm. I will miss my kitty so much.

I finished my sheep painting today and listed it on Ebay with the Rabbit below. It was rather cold and very windy all weekend so it was a good time to paint.

Looking Like a Beautiful Weekend

This week I've been working on a couple of paintings on canvas. I really enjoy painting, it's fun and easy to paint a little hare and there..... I'm ready to list this Folk Art Hare and I'm working on a larger painting of a sheep and a crow. So far so good, hopefully I'll be done with it in a few days.

So far the weather is looking good so we will be outside riding horses all weekend. I haven't been riding as much as I should between making dolls, painting and the rain, it's been hard to find the time. I hope everyone has a wonderful and productive weekend!

We have a Nurse in the Family!

This past week my cousin graduated from Nursing School. We are all so proud of her! My mom wanted to give her doll so I gave Lucy a makeover! Well honestly, Lucy wasn't very happy just swinging her life away, she wanted to do something more meaningful so I made her into a Nurse.

Happy Mothers Day

I hope everyone is enjoying their Mothers Day! I know I am, I have two beautiful hanging baskets on my front porch! I love them so much. My mom wanted a Rooster painted quilt to hang on her cupboard so I made her one. I hope she likes it!

Busy Week with This Little Bunny

I'm almost done with my new doll! I worked hard on all the little details and I think she turned out really cute. She is also very special becuase she is standing on a box that I stencled and aged. She is very sturdy up there and looks so cute with her basket of flowers. She will be listed on Sunday afternoon for a 7 day auction. She doesn't have a name yet, my daughter has the responsibility of giving my dolls a name and she is still thinking about it..........

Rags To Riches Doll Launch

Today is the Rags to Riches Doll Launch! I've been looking forward to this day and here is my Lucy and her little Bear. This was very different from what a normally do but I really enjoyed making her and have an idea for another one, hopefully I'll start soon... I'm torn between two different ideas, I'll just have to see which one I'm more passionate about.

Weekend Fun...

We had cold, wet weather in Michigan this weekend so I had the perfect excuse to stay inside and make things!!! Joee, a Super Talented Artist from The Cart Before the Horse had made a Painted Quilt and I've wanted to make since then! So that is what I did this weekend. They are not quite finished; still need varnished and a hanger. I had a lot of fun and am going to make a couple more......
